Our special guest this week, Eric Wittenberg, Attorney, mediator, and arbitrator, will Present on:
Mediating Business Divorces
Going into business with someone is like getting married. Many characteristics of marriage apply to business relationships; trust, loyalty, honesty, and commitment. Often, people spend more time with their business colleagues than with their families. Consequently, it’s no surprise that ending business relationships can be as messy, costly, and unpleasant as a divorce. That’s why I call such situations “business divorces.”
Eric J. Wittenberg is a graduate of Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, and also of the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. He was admitted to practice before the Ohio bar in 1987, as well as the United States District Courts for the Northern (1989) and Southern (1987) Districts of Ohio and the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit (1990). He is a member of the Ohio State and Columbus Bar Associations. He has had extensive mediation training. He is also a volunteer mediator for the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio.
He has extensive experience in handling business, real estate, and construction claims of all types. He has served as a sole arbitrator for construction and construction warranty claims and has also served as a mediator in a variety of different types of cases. He believes in resolving disputes in a cost-effective, creative fashion that accomplishes the goals of the parties in an efficient fashion.
Mr. Wittenberg is also an award-winning Civil War historian. He is the author of twenty-three published books and more than three dozen articles that have appeared in national magazines on the Civil War.
